The Off Season

As a worker/volunteer and not a racer my off season is a little different than most of you. While I love being at the track it takes a lot of time and energy! So when the season comes to an end I'm ready to relax and take some time for myself! After about three weeks at the most....I'm bored and ready to get off my lazy butt and go back to the track!

I want to know what everyone does during their off season! Relax? Prep for next year? or do you race all year round?

Happy Holidays!

Favorite thing about racing?

Hey everyone,
I know it’s been a while since I posted, but it’s been a crazy few weeks. Lots of great racing going on all over the country.
Now some of you may know this and some may not, but I am an active volunteer in the SCCA WDCR region and travel to many tracks on the east coast. I have been an emergency services volunteer for over 4 years and this season I started doing some slight hosting and interviewing for the SCCA US Majors Tours for the Eastern Conference! It’s a great experience and I love meeting all the drivers and really getting into their racing minds!
This brought up a question to me…. What is your favorite part of being at the race track? (Any track any time) Is it racing, friends, watching the races, crewing, volunteering, or meeting new people, etc.?
We want to know so leave us a comment!

We want to know your stories! If you are in a mother/daughter team or if you have a daughter that wants to race, but you don't know where to start....let us know! We have lots of people to listen and give advice.

We want to hear your story so email us, facebook us, or post a comment here and you may be featured on our show in an upcoming week!

The New Girl!

Let me start by thanking Dani Ferrara for putting this question in my head!

I'm sure we have all had to deal with this once or twice in our racing career.

So here is the question. What do you do and/or how do you feel when the new girl shows up? You know the situation I'm talking about: You have been the only girl on your team or your place at the track for years....and then a new girl comes in! As women we are naturally a little protective of our positions.

In these types of situations what would you do? Would you help her out, show her around and befriend her....or would you act like she doesn't exist and do what you do ten times better?

We want to hear your thoughts and stories and we might just talk about it on the show!

Welcome to our blog!

Hello to all of my lady racers,

Why are we here? Well to talk about racing of course! We want to have a place for our awesome fans to come and talk about experiences and events without the pressure of social media! We also want to give you the scoop about our guests for the week.

I am Taylor Hyatt the Executive Production Assistant for the Heels On Wheels Radio Program. I also run all the social media for our show! I have been involved in racing my whole life with my grandfather, father, and uncle being racecar drivers. I am part of SCCA, NASA, VRG and many more organizations. For over ten years I have been volunteering for these organizations doing registration and emergency services.

On the show we also have six co-hosts doing all the interviews at the moment. They are all women with careers, families, education, and of course a racing background.

I will be posting at least once a week with guest updates and a question for us to think about and talk about with our other racing ladies! I want this to be a fun, interesting blog where we can have great discussions about women in motorsports! Please check back with us regularly for updates!

If you have a story or know someone who would be great for the show please contact us by email at heelsonwheelsradio@gmail.com .

You can also find us on facebook using Heels On Wheels Radio Program on Twitter @PMNHeelsWheels and on Pinterest and Instagram using PMNHeelsWheels.

Until Next time,
Keep that engine running!
